Long ago, there existed a race graced with nearly everlasting life and almost infinite wisdom. They had the power to manipulate time and material existence, but even still they found themselves targeted for extinction as their radiant spirits drew the attentions of the Sea of Consciousness – the eternal darkness awash in the heart of the universe. As countless systems fell to the predators from beyond, PanGu, the greatest of his kind, began his exodus to the edge of the known universe. His goal: To establish a last sanctuary for the Celestials, called Earth.
PanGu's domain became a haven where the remaining Celestials could live in peace, safe from the corrupting consumption of the Sea of Consciousness. But their peace was not to last. It is said that one day PanGu’s avatar was missing from his seat on the Mountain of BuZhou. And that was the day that anarchy and fear descended upon the Celestials. PanGu's absence left a vacuum, one which Zhurong and other Guardians of Dimensions swooped in to fill. The great G'gong, however, resented their disregard for the old ways and impudent assumption of power. Mustering the Legacy of the Old Ones, G'gong declared war against the Guardians in the hope of gaining control of PanGu's heart, the Mountain of BuZhou. Meanwhile, division has arisen within the Guardians' own ranks as the downtrodden and marginalized rally behind the imprisoned Nüwa, who claims to hear the very voice of PanGu. As the fires of war ravage Earth, strange forces lurk in the shadows. Why are mutations breaking out among the Celestials? What is the Queen of the Void scheming with her Void of KunLun? And could there be darker powers lying in wait just around the corner?
